we had a wonderful 4th this year. thank God that sydney felt good enough to come out and shoot some fireworks. luke was much more brave this year with the "fire", so we had to watch him like a hawk!! cory and jamie were the pyrotechnics this year and shot the "big" fireworks...well, pretty fireworks. we have so much to be thankful for this 4th of july, not only am i thankful for living in the country that i do, but i am so thankful to be a part of such a wonderful and blessed family.
luke got to hold a sparkler by himself (for a milisecond!)

happy "late" father's day!
ok, i know i'm like 10 days late on posting this, but, better late than never, hu?? we've been so busy here lately that we don't know what to do with ourselves.
but, just want to wish my dad a very happy father's day. he is a very special man in my life. growing up, i just didn't realize how important my dad was to me. of course, as a teenager, i definitely took him for granted. but now, since i am married and have child(ren) of my own, things have really changed. my dad is such a hard worker and has always worked so hard to give us girls whatever we wanted (within limits, of course!). he taught us so much about responsibility and making our own decisions. he is a Christian man that puts God first in his life and i respect him so much for that.
thank you, dad, for all you have ever done for me and the things you do for my family. i love you very much!

on saturday before father's day, we celebrated with my family with a good cookout, ribs and all the fixins, at mom and dad's house. yummy! we got to celebrate cory's father's day on sunday with a good lunch at his parent's house. cory had a good father's day, too. new lenses for the good ol' oakley sunglasses! hey, that's what he wanted! luke and allie love you! (i know, no pictures.....)

slumber party......
well, sort of.......dawson got to spend-the-night with us last night. luke had a BLAST. they stayed up late...well if you call 9:00 late, and watched TV and then they were off to bed. he just thought it was the neatest thing that dawson got to sleep in HIS room. here are some shots of them right before they went off to sleep. (yes, they both slept ALL night....didn't hear a peep from either of them)
oh, i can't wait!!

summer, summer, summer FUN!
IT'S A GIRL!!
we went yesterday for our anatomy scan/ultrasound and, well, it's official.....we are going to have a sweet baby girl in november! (Lord willing, this one doesn't come early like luke did!) we are super excited. luke has been telling us that it's a girl, but hea WANTS a boy. so, he was right all along.
keep praying that my pregnancy continues to go well. the dr. has restricted me from lifting and doing any strenous activities (yes, kinda tough with a 2 year old!). we pray that this baby is stong, healthy and FULL TERM!!
i'm working on uploading the ultrasound video to my blog...so bear with me...i'm stll learning!

SHOTS.....UGH!!!
well, about 10 weeks ago, my OBGYN told me.....at 16 weeks, you'll start your progesteron shots one time a week to help from going into pre-term labor. at that time, it seemed so far away. well, guess what, week 16 has arrived. UGH!!!! got the medicine, syringes, needles, alchohol wipes, 2x2 gauze and even a sharps container in the mail yesterday. i immidiately put them in the closet! (yes, i am a BIG chicken when it comes to shots!) melanie, my sister that is an RN, called yesterday willing to come over right then and give me the shot...well....no, no, not today, i told her; let's wait until tomorrow. so today was the day...shot in the HIP! i think she was glad to give me the shots if i say so myself! it actually wasn't that bad.
oh, the things we do for our children!
