hilton head 2009
we were fortunate enough to be able to travel this pregnancy!! yay! so, my parents invited us to go to hilton head, s.c. with them this past week. we couldn't turn down one last trip before little allie gets here. we left on tuesday when i got off work, drove part of the way and headed to the beach on wednesday. luke was so excited. this was his first trip to the beach and he LOVED it!! the weather was perfect!! the sand on the east coast is a little darker and harder than the gulf sand, but it was still a very beautiful beach.

our 3 year old
well, not until the 21st but....
ok, i am getting really sentimental here lately. hormones, whatever.....but the thought of luke turning 3 is really depressing me. i know, he's healthy and so much fun, but where has the time gone? i was looking at some old pictures yesterday and just bo-hooed! i feel like i should be pregnant with luke rather than him turning 3 and us fixing to have another baby. i remember my parents always saying that time flies by quicker as you age...boy, they are so right! it seems as if it were yesterday i was holding him in my arms at the hospital.
he is so much fun now (not that he wasn't at a much younger age...but you moms know what i mean!). here are just a few things luke does...
1. potties "ALL BY MYSELF"...and i do mean "ALL BY MYSELF"
2. still sleeps all night....IN HIS BED! he has only slept all night with me and cory 3 or 4 times...and most of that was on vacation! he loves HIS bed
3. takes awesome naps
4. carries on very intellegent conversations...at least we think so!
5. can ride his bicycle with training wheels
6. loves his playroom, especially his monster trucks. he probably has about 50 of them!
7. hangs on to ni-ne and teddy bear like they are his lifeline
8. some of his fave foods include spaghetti o's (with meatballs), mac and cheese, chocolate milk, lucky charms cereal and oatsies....
9. loves taking a bath in the "big tub"
10. is a total cuddle bug in the mornings and after naptime
11. his daddy and superman are his heros!
12. loves his john deere gator
13. starting to tattle-tell....on me and cory! if one says "no" he runs to the other and tattles!
14. is an outside boy! any chance he gets...he's outside!
15. he runs.....everywhere!!
i know, i know, i could go on and on. as a parent, i guess it's normal to think how awesome your own child is. cory and i just love this little boy so much, his smile, his laugh, everything... and we thank God so much for sending luke to us. can't imagine life without our little luke! so, happy 3rd birthday, luke. we love you so much and can't wait to see what the future holds for you!
happy 3rd birthday, luke!
last friday, we celebrated luke's 3rd birthday with a MONSTER JAM party at our house. he had a blast! he actaully doesn't turn 3 until the 21st, but we decided to have it early. sydney even felt good enough to come!! he got TONS of monster trucks....even some that make really annoying noises...but that's all part of having a little boy! i know, it looks like the lady that made his cake did something wrong, but i got the picture of his cake AFTER he rolled his superman monster truck over it... oh well....

luke's ni-ne
as in "night-e"....yes that's what he calls his blanket....and it's becomming very "loved". mother makes all the grandkids blankets when they are born and all of them become very attached to them....and luke, by no means, is NO exception. he HAS to have his ni-ne, along with teddy bear, to sleep with. he carries this blanket around everywhere....well, except for church and town. cory and i both had blankets when we were little, so we understand how attached he is to this blanket. the mickey side used to be one of my sheets when i lived at home and mama got some fabric to match it for the other side. so needless to say, the mickey side was a little worn to begin with....but very cuddly and soft!! she made him a "back-up" just in case something were to happen to the origninal, but luke really has nothing to do with that one...he just calls it "new ni-ne". so, the more love, the better it gets!! mama just keeps on patching it up when it gets "boo-boo's".
amost ready for allie
well, i can honestly say, we are ALMOST officially ready for allie. since i went into pre-term labor with luke (6 weeks early), we started getting ready for allie EARLY!! i am now almost 31 weels pregnant. so, most everything is washed and put away, car seats are ready to be installed, room painted and clean, bed(s) are ready (crib and bassinet), etc. we are getting super excited about our little girl!!
Roll Tide Roll!!
we are all super excited about college football starting! luke is ready, too.....well, for the most part. this is what we had to do to occupy him saturday night during the tide/VT game so we could still watch it without him feeling "left out"....
#1. build a tent......
#2. give him the camera to take pictures......#3. take pictures of luke....
he also played by himself VERY well through out the 1st half....the 2nd half he was in the bed! ROLL TIDE!!
