picture day on sesame street

on sesame street this morning, they were talking about cameras and taking pictures. well, luke just had to have a shot at that. he came running in the office, grabbed the camera and off he went.....these are just a few shots he got!

gatlinburg 2009

we took a short, but very nice, trip to gatlinburg. we left on thursday and came back on sunday. it was the weekend of the spring rod run...basically a VERY big car show!!! TONS of old cars....which is right up cory's lane! we had tons of fun. both sets of parents were there along with cynthia, jamie and the kids. we got to spend time with all of them.

yes, we spent $20 for 6 rides at one of the carnival things!!!!! it was worth it, though!

we also went to the dixie stampede......very very fun!!! i highly recommend it...and the food was awesome!

and...one thing cory and i learned on this trip.....sleeping with a 2 1/2 year is VERY difficult!! luke has NEVER slept with us until this trip. he was ready to get back to his race car bed as much as we were ready for him to get back to his race car bed!!!!

we had a fun filled weekend filled with LOTS of Easter eggs!!!!! we had 2 wonderful egg hunts. one at my parents house on saturday and the other today at the sulcer farm (cory's great-grandparents old farm). luke (and cory and i) had a wonderful time with all of our family. it was a little bit cold saturday, but luke still had a BLAST!!

potty trianed!

just have to brag a little bit.......ok, luke is about %99 potty trained. SUPER! it took us about 5 months to get here!!!! we started right after he turned 2 and we put him in underwear right after Christmas. every now and then he has an accident, but, i can deal with those. it feels SO good not to spend almost $40 for a box of diapers.....and we were buying those about every 2 weeks. we still buy a small thing of diapers for night time and a few pull-ups for when we go somewhere.......just in case of an accident. music to my ears now days is "mommy, gotta go potty". and, he has learned to hold himself if we are a little ways from a potty. i LOVE it.

luke's 3rd dental visit

i took luke in for his 3rd dental visit this morning. (yes, pediatric dentists reccommend you bring your child in for their first dental visit at age 1!!). anyways, i wanted his teeth cleaned at this visit. no, he didn't like getting his teeth brushed, he actually screamed, no tears, though! but, he did GREAT for the dr. exam!! by the way, he also loved the new play area at our new APDA office!! and, NO SUGAR BUGS!thanks tammy for taking luke down the BIG slide!

look, i put my shoes on....

i always lay luke's clothes and shoes out when we are getting ready to go somewhere. well, while i was getting ready for church last night, luke comes in the bathroom like this.....
he said, "i put my shoes on all by myself". he sure did! and, they are on the correct feet!! by the way, he did wear pants with his shirt and shoes!!!

luke's prayer

luke is starting to say his prayers at night (instead of cory saying them). so, here is how tonight's went:

thank you God for food, thank you God for mama, dada, wuke (luke), thank you God for my book, thank you God for this book (pointing to the one we were fixing to read), thank you God for my racecar bed. amen.

goodbye crib....

hello big boy bed. i know, he's 2 1/2 you say; but, luke has always LOVED his bed. even as an infant, he slept so well in his crib. and, he had yet to try and climb out of it!! but, we decided it was time for his RACECAR bed!!! well, tonight is the first night in the bed....so wish us luck!

cory was folding clothes last night (yes, he was! while i was comfortably resting on the couch!!! thanks babe!) anyways, luke just had to wear his underwear....on his head! what child doesn't have a picture like this?? i know, one day he's going to look back and be totally mortified by these pictures. (and by the way, no, those aren't his SUPERMAN pj's.....they were in the wash!)
